Kenora Public Works Building

City of Kenora  |  2004  |  2,700 sq ft new addition  |  2,500 sq ft renovation

The Kenora Public Works building was delivered to the City of Kenora under a Design Build contract in collaboration with Dominion Construction, Nelson Architecture, Lavergne Draward Associates and MCW/AGE.

The building is approximately 7620 sq metres in building area with heated storage garage, maintenance garage, shops, stores, offices and related support facilities. The building is a conventional framed steel building with precast and insulated metal panel walls. Through a collaborative design process the building was constructed at a substantially lower cost than the specified pre-engineered metal building, while providing a substantially lower life cycle cost, lower operation cost, and a greater degree of usability and thermal comfort for its occupants.
