A Native Language/Cultural Room serves as a place for traditional cultural and educational activities. A raised platform absorbs sound and vibrations when drums are played during school hours. A skylight brings in natural light into the middle of the room while also acting as a filter to purify the air during smudging ceremonies. Bead-like lights hang on a net of wires, reminiscent of a dreamcatcher, while the floor directly below holds the image of a medicine wheel pointing in the four cardinal directions. The cultural room also serves as a place for the preparation and cooking of traditional foods, as well as a community breakfast program.
